Scope & rounding

What this calculator does — and does not do

  • 2026 regular monthly salary only: no bonuses, multiple jobs, private insurance, midijob rules, or other special cases.
  • No church tax. No salary, tax, or family data leaves this browser.
  • BMF PAP uses its operation-specific rounding. For social insurance, RV and AV are each rounded HALF_UP; health main and supplementary employee shares are rounded separately with ROUND_HALF_UP and then added; PV applies the complete employee rate once and rounds HALF_UP. No intermediate base or rate is rounded.
  • Tax child allowance, pre-checked PV surcharge duty, and PV-relevant children are independent fields. “5 or more” maps to PVA=4.

Scenario estimate only: not a payslip, tax return, forecast or personal tax/payroll advice.

How to use the salary calculator

From gross salary to a supported scenario

Use facts from your employment and insurance records. If either Pflegeversicherung status is unclear, the calculator deliberately waits instead of assuming an answer.

1

Enter your salary

Use annual regular cash salary that divides into twelve identical monthly periods. The supported range starts at €24,000.12 per year.

2

Add tax details

Select tax class I–VI and enter the tax child allowance (ZKF) separately. Classes V and VI require a zero allowance in this model.

3

Clarify social insurance

Enter your health fund’s full supplementary rate, Saxony employment location, pre-checked PV surcharge duty and already determined PV-relevant children.

Understand your result

What the deductions mean

The result separates payroll tax from each employee social-insurance contribution. It does not mix employer costs into your deductions.

Monthly take-home pay

Gross salary minus wage tax, solidarity surcharge and the displayed employee contributions. This is the main scenario estimate—not a payslip guarantee.

Wage tax and solidarity surcharge

Lohnsteuer follows the final BMF 2026 monthly payroll program. Payroll withholding is not the same as a final annual income-tax assessment.

Employee social contributions

Pension, unemployment, statutory health and long-term-care contributions use the supported 2026 rates, ceilings and separate rounding units.

Annual estimate

Every annual value is labelled as 12 × the monthly estimate. The calculator does not perform an annual payroll calculation or tax return.

What changes your take-home pay?

Only factors this model actually uses

Gross salary and tax class

Regular gross pay and Steuerklasse affect the payroll-tax result. The model supports classes I–VI but not the tax-class-IV factor procedure.

Tax child allowance

ZKF is a tax input for classes I–IV. It is not an ordinary child count and does not establish long-term-care contribution status.

Health fund rate

The entered Zusatzbeitrag changes the employee statutory-health contribution. The 2.9% default is the official 2026 average; your fund may differ.

PV status and Saxony

Employment location Saxony, pre-checked surcharge duty and already determined PV-relevant children affect the employee long-term-care contribution.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about this net salary calculator

Is this calculator suitable for my employment situation?

Only if your case fits the visible 2026 scope: one regular employment, twelve equal monthly cash-salary periods above the transition range and supported statutory insurance. Unsupported cases are excluded rather than approximated.

Why can my payslip differ from the estimate?

Your payroll may include facts this model does not collect, such as church tax, one-off payments, benefits in kind, factor procedure, partial months, private insurance or employer-specific payroll adjustments.

Which year does the calculator support?

Only 2026. The calculation uses the final BMF 2026 monthly wage-tax program and the recorded 2026 social-insurance parameters.

Where can I find my health insurer’s supplementary contribution rate?

Check your statutory health insurer’s current contribution information. Enter the full fund-specific Zusatzbeitrag, not only the employee half. The prefilled 2.9% is the official 2026 average, not every fund’s rate.

Are tax child allowances and care-insurance child rules the same?

No. The tax child allowance (ZKF), pre-checked PV surcharge duty and already determined number of PV-relevant children are separate facts and remain separate inputs.

Does the calculator include church tax or private health insurance?

No. Both are outside the supported V1 and the result visibly states that church tax is not included.

What does the annual estimate mean?

It is exactly twelve times each monthly estimate. It is not an annual payroll calculation, annual tax equalisation or income-tax assessment.

Are my entries sent to Finanz2Go?

No. The calculator runs locally in your browser and does not submit salary, tax-class or family-related entries to Finanz2Go.
