SCHUFA: choose the document you need
Checking your own record and showing evidence to someone else are different jobs. Start with the purpose of the document.

Start with these three questions.
Your own record
Use the data-copy route to understand and check stored information.
A sharing document
Clarify the exact evidence requested before ordering or sharing.
A correction
Identify the specific record and keep supporting evidence.
Checking your records? Start with the free data copy.
SCHUFA offers a free “Datenkopie nach Art. 15 DS-GVO” showing personal information it holds. Its own description says the copy contains sensitive data and is intended for your personal information. The request route is linked in the sources below.
The federal data-protection authority explains that exercising the right of access generally costs nothing and does not need a justification. Do not assume that a paid product is necessary simply to find out what data is stored about you.
Asked to provide evidence? Check the exact document.
SCHUFA also markets a separate creditworthiness certificate for sharing with third parties. Its description says that document is limited to information relevant for that purpose. A full personal data copy and a sharing certificate should therefore not be treated as interchangeable.
“What data is stored about me?”
Look at the free data-access route. Read the contents yourself and keep the document secure.
“What proof are you requesting?”
Ask for the document name, required date and scope before buying or sharing anything.
If a record looks wrong, be specific.
SCHUFA provides a correction route for inaccurate or inconsistent information. The data-protection authority separately explains the right to rectification. Identify the item you dispute, explain what is incorrect and keep the evidence that supports your request.
- 01Find the specific record rather than arguing about a number alone.
- 02Check the name, address, dates and organisation associated with it.
- 03Keep relevant correspondence or payment evidence.
- 04Use the official correction channel and keep a copy of your request.
Handle the document as personal information.
A useful first question is not “where can I upload it?” but “what is this recipient entitled to need for this step?” Check the recipient, the channel and the document’s scope before sharing. Finanz2Go does not ask you to upload a SCHUFA record or enter a score on this page.
This guide does not calculate a credit score, promise that an application will be accepted or tell you how a lender or landlord will decide. It is a practical guide to the documents and official routes.
Common questions
Do I have to buy a subscription to request my data?
The free data-copy route is distinct from paid monitoring or certificate products. Read the official route carefully before ordering a product.
Should I send my full data copy to a landlord?
The copy contains sensitive information and is described by SCHUFA as intended for personal information. First clarify the exact document the recipient needs and avoid disclosing more than the purpose requires.
Does a number guarantee a particular outcome?
This guide makes no acceptance prediction. Read the explanation provided with the actual product and clarify the recipient’s requirements.
